Sarpatta Parambarai is a boxing film from Pa. Ranjith featuring songs by Santhosh Narayanan. The film’s major success lies in transporting us seamlessly to the 1970s of North Madras and revolves around the lives and trials of two competing boxing clans—Sarpatta and Iddiyappa—and follows the story of Kabilan (Arya) as he fights not just his rivals but also the bitter nexus of caste, class and personal crises.

This design from the worst.designer.ever is a collage of the characters from the movie done in the same style as Grand Theft Auto (GTA) San Andreas. The characters include Vetrilselvan, Kabilan, Rangan Vaathiyaar, Daddy, Raman, Bhagyam, Mariyamma, Dancing Rose, and Vembuli.

Sarpatta Parambarai manifests the Tamil sensibility that can embrace the outside culture without ruining their own tradition. This is how, boxing, a sport introduced by the colonizer later turned out to be a matter of honour for several groups in India.

Quite fitting that this is the first poster design to be launched on Myxtur.

Packaging
